Not to steal from WUFMAN's thread, but rather to complement it--who is up for an AR15.com campout and shoot at Uwharrie this coming weekend??
Lord knows I need a break, so the boy and I are coming out sat and sun to camp out and shoot, maybe wet a line or whatever! It's cool out, prime time camp weather! Not to mention that the fishing is not bad on/in Badin either, especially at dawn and dusk.... I'll start: I can bring burger patties as I am still at a shocking loss for decent HOT links anywhere in the Charlotte/Rock Hill area!

Me be camping friday night and probably saturday night too.
taverndog..............you camping up on the hill past the range? I'll wait and see what needs to be brought for saturday if we are cooking out at the range before I commit anything. I guess I need to make sure all my gear is ready.

me and some friends should come out on sat. am. We tried last week but the range was closed. It will be good to have other people with "evil" weapons out here so I don't get all the strange looks. Looking foward to seeing you all out there.

Nope from what I was told just Sat and Sun only fro right now. Plus make sure you bring targets No trash bottles and such they have chicken wire across the range to put paper targets on. You can use cardboard boxes with your target on them but you must bring all of your target stands back with you when you leave. We must keep this place clean to keep it open. Bump firing is no longer aloud and full auto may not be aloud in the future. And no more 50 bmg

I'm packed up and ready to go. I should be at the camp site around 10 in the morning.

Same here  ....I am tired too, but I want to thank u352 for coming out and cooking, zombiefragger for spearheading the effort to open the range (let's hope that it will work out)--space for the stands and firewood, and thanks to spooky, taverndog & wife, rob1035 and zombiefragger for making camp a good time.And WUFMAN, the man of the hour (IOW--chicken for not camping out  )--WHERE ARE THE PICS???????????????

I had a great time and enjoyed seeing everyone on sat. it was a great feeling to get to fire off a few rounds again. a big thanks to zombiefragger for his awesome efforts in getting the range back open and hopefully we can all keep it that way.
u352: i saw you down there but didn't get to say hi or anything, sorry bout that. taverndog: you got some very cool weaponry and it was good to see you again. rob1035: great job on your new AR, looks like you have a great shooter on your hands. better go pick you up more ammo as you said, . and it was good to meet ya.wufman: i saw you there for a bit also, and like with u352, i didn't get to say hi or anything. sorry bout that. there was another couple of members there and i spoke with one a bit but forgot his screen name. had several nice toys and a P22 like mine(except his was a AF date code) with a streamlight on it. it was great to talk with ya. it was a very fun time and was great to meet everyone that i got to.i wasn't even that embarressed when my 20rd mag fell out of my AR when i slammed the bolt home on it.(i have got to remember to pop it into place instead of being gentle with it). it was pretty funny though as i was kinda surprised when it hit the ground as i have never had that to happen and i am sure that i had a pretty funny look on my face.  can't wait to do it again!!!! camaro |

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who came out this weekend. I had a great time out there. You are all a cool bunch of people, and I look forward to future outings. I also appreciate all the "thank you"s, but at the same time, I feel like it couldnt have been done without all the help and support I have recieved from the Arfcomers, whether it be all the great meals, monitoring,all the rides back and forth, being the "moral support" to a guy who has to monitor a gun range unarmed, etc.. Its good to see how we come together and all bring something unique to the table. Hope to party with yall again soon. -John
