Same reason any guy ever tries to arrange something completely crazy... it would ensure my status as the best guy in history to the best girl I know....I have no desire to ride a giraffe but she has always dreamt of it.

Did you try calling the place in Urbana and asking if they might have a line on a giraffe? I can't imagine this is large community of people, surely they will know of someone.
