Has anyone heard when the next shoot will be.  Besides guns and ammo what else should be brought?
Thanks

>>>Besides guns and ammo what else should be brought?

Guns, ammo, ear and eye protection, & $15 is about all you need to have.  At least one course each of rifle, pistol, and shotgun are the norm these days.  (Rifle for the courses should generally be a "tactical" style rifle with either iron sights or optical sight with low or zero magnification suitable for CCB.)

Optional stuff would be a camp chair, quick deploy tent/gazeebo, folding table, stuff to shoot at like pink flamingos, shoes you don't mind getting muddy if it's rained recently, ballcap to keep the sun out of your eyes, rampage vest to hold spare mags, beverage and food of choice if you have a special preference, (they usualy don't have diet soda or caffine free cola;  food is usually fried chicken or burgers), camera if you want to take pictures, and a vehicle you don't mind driving on a rocky road.

Most important thing I would say is Bring you and a Chair Folding camp chairs are pretty popular... the rest can be scrounged or borrowed... and the credit card or Checkbook or a lot of cash! The "Pro Shop" always requires a visit....
But Really Karl hit it on the head... bring a lot of ammo... and a friendly attitude...

? If we go to a MODCC, do we have to do the course, or can we watch, and then shoot at "pink flamingos" when everyone else does? IE, group shoot?

I didn't run a course the first couple of times I went until I'd watched everybody else enough to be comfatable running a course myself, but that's just me.

If you go and you know you're not going to run a course, you can save $5 by only signing up for the meal and event w/o courses.  (Jeff or John can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you can pay to attend and be allowed to shoot on the "free fire line" without paying for the courses of fire.)

$5 for the event and free fire line
$5 for the Courses of fire
$5 for the Meal

Jeff,
is the 3 man championship at the end of april going to be open to the public like a regular shoot?

I would suggest going ahead and shooting the tactical course.  Most people are comfortable running from station to station and engaging targets, but there is NOTHING wrong w/walking the course.  I'm sure one of the range officers would be happy to "ride your hip" and escort you through the COF if needed.  These shoots are exactly what you put into them, low level or high level, but the bottom line is that we are there to meet new people, support CMMG, and get better at shooting!!

Okay I've read the rules and it says a minimum of a 9mm would 7.62 *25 be considered below that or not?  Obviously it is small diameter but also higher energy and velocity.  Just curious.

Also anyone interested in making a team?
