Well, was a little disappointed when I couldn't find a Chinese drum for the AK so I had to come home with a new rifle. Found a Swiss K31 for $90. Its in great shape, with only a few minor dings in the stock that should sheam out easily. Everyone talks about how great a shooter these are so I guess its time to find out. Guess I will just have to order that drum on-line.

Would have pictures, but the wife has the camera out of town for the weekend...

I had a friend at Mizzou buy his first rifle at the show.

a CMMG M4 14.5/perm phantom.

I helped steer him to the best.

Some guy was selling home-made tantals for $400, and the CMMG guys had the usual cool setup, but WHERE did you see the K-31?  These midway shows are terrible....but there isn't anything better!

Got the K31 from a local dealer named Mike Tate. He is a regular there and always has good deals. I bought my first 2 "assault weapons" from him and have never regretted it. He had 6 others I looked at as well, a 8mm Hakim, #4 Enfield, FN-49, Tokarev SVT-40, 2 chinese SKS, and 1 Rusian SKS so it was a hard choice. I was introduced to him by METALMAN and Shi_Huang_Di about 2 years ago.

Holy cow, RsteinB, is Mike Tait back in town?  Last I heard he moved to FL, but then his neighbor told me that Tait might be back to MO.

Curious, how much is the FN49?  I sold him a really nice FN49 a while back to raise funds for my M1A.  I wonder if this is the same rifle he has for sale now.  I kinda miss that rifle .... maybe I can buy it back from him.

I havent seen Tait at his home yet, but there are cars parked in front.  Allan said that Tait is back for sure, but this is the first I heard that Tait is back on the gun-show circuit.

well, it was a WW2 rifle.  I guess not everyone buys C&R guns for their historical values.

yep, Mike has been back for a few months now. His Father is much better and he only has 1 or 2 trips to get everything back from flordia. I have talked to him for a while each time I see him. He said he is starting to roam with the shows again but stock is still a little low. (doubt it stays that way for long and his wife agreed) I am sure glad he is back.  Didn't look too close at the FN49 really. Had seen it before but I was really drawn to the K31. You just don't find that kind of craftsmanship in a rifle today, much less those of its era.

given the bolt was plum, it was a refurb.  A refurb missing most of its receiver finish?
