Who said we couldn't own a gun? I've got a few dozen last time I counted
. I though you spent some time at CalGuns or the CA DOJ reading the laws?
It isn't possible to buy any more assualt rifles but most thinking people saw that coming long ago and stocked up - notice the pictures. I bought eight AR's, an FAL and some other shit. Being in the military I've been transfered though CA, WA, IL, CO, IN, and a couple other states I think. Having full automatic weapons at home would be a real bitch as unlike some people who are born, live and die in the same city I've been forced to live the life of a gypsy moving from state to state with each PCS move (15 apartments in 17 years).
Fucking federal regulations on full-auto class III weapons are a bitch. And don't even dream about bringing shit overseas. I know my secruity clearance already went though all my carry permits and weapons records ... I can't imagine how long I would be in jail for bringing an M-16 into California (TS/SCI
and Persoanal Reliablity Program because of my comm's and nuke exposures). I'm on every list the government has. I already have weapons in four different states if I recall correctly
guess I should check with the NCIS when I get my security debriefing in two weeks. I get all the full-auto time I want with the M-16's we have at the command and occassionally with M-14's and .50's aboard ship ... but then it is at tax payers expense.
So anyway there are more assault weapons in Calfornia than any other state in the union currently but you knew that from your reading right? That fact is likely to change come Sept 16th as the country goes wild and starts to catch up with us but they've got a long way to go. Texas should catch up in a few years. We're like number four or five for full-autos but then that's out of my price range.
Funny thing about all those many weapons in California is that most of them fell overboard in tragic boating accidents - I've heard the figure of 95 to 98% didn't get registered as required. That's quite a few Californian's risking bad ju-ju (first offense is a small fine, second is jail time) for their rights to own firearms of their choice. The military base being federal property I don't have to comply with California state laws there.
What does irrate me is ignorate trolls who don't know shit trying to tell me what to do. I would face serious federal jail time if I were to move from California at this time
. I retire from nearly 24 years of service in 47 days and a wake up but I'm likely to stay here. I want to stay in the fight and once out of the miltiary it will be legal for me to become more politically active. See I've actually done stuff in my (adopted) state. I've actually spent times on the front lines, in the trenches, and done battle ... nothing was ever given to me. I could retreat out of the state at any time (+47 days) and enjoy a soft life living high on the hog with my California earned riches (
they don't even pay E-9's that much
). Actually my house is making me more money than my E-9 and my pay as an instructor at UC combined. You gotta love the real estate market here
. Might even move to Missouri as I understand it does have four seasons like I was use to growing up in MN and IL.
What also irrates me is the facination of some over California. There are states worse off. New York for one, Hawaii, New Jersey and Illinios to mention a few. But something drives people like yourself at California. You are by far not the only one. There are legions of you people. Possibly because I'm not here by choice I have a better perspective. As an example when the ex-governor was tring to issue driver's licenses for illegals people here were having kittens laughing their asses off ... but the truth is that 14 other states ALREADY were issuing the licenses out for years - the laugh was on them. Someone from Michigan was bitching about "Madonna" the California babe being whatever for whatever reason only to stop bitching when it was pointed out Madonna was born in Michigan.
I'll check the IL and NY forums to see if you offer your feelings to them where it's illegal to own a firearm in Chicago and New York. There are more handguns in Los Angeles than any other city in America by the way
. I can fill the more than 100 magazines AR I own up to 30 rounds (that's all they hold) unlike some states. I can own AR magazines unlike some states. If I lived out in the sticks I could light off belt fed machine guns here in California too ... except I live in a city and never bought a belt-fed (they were legal five years ago with the same federal permit you went though but you knew that having read the CalGuns web site huh?). I've still got ten or twenty rounds from a 20mm belt that I went though ... gave most of the shells away to friends for pencil holders
. There are belt fed shoots routinely posted in the CA forum - I think there's one this weekend matter of fucking fact. The high desert has a pretty famous militia group you may have read about ... they've got plenty of nice toys.
Many of us also drive to Las Vegas - about three hours away for me and go shopping or shooting there. Plenty of magazines to be had for those that didn't buy a thousand plus dollars of them prior to the ban. It was nice having the National Training Center located so close - Fort Irwin is also about three hours away
and Camp Pendelton is a hour away - hour and half to southern rifle range areas. There were plenty of magazines to be purchased back in 1999 and the Army Navy stores. Being in the military it would be all too easy to have say Michigan, Illinois, Washington, and North Carolina identification huh? That would be bad, I did have an FFL but let it expire and still have a few CCW's. I guess I should get one here as the county I live in is very pro-CCW.
Best wishes, I hope I've straightened you out on your confussion on our state laws here, I'm glad you're so concerned about us and look forward to your posts in those other states where the laws are even more draconian then ours. If you'd like to actually help the cause why not join the California Rifle and Pistol Club which also counts as membership in a CMP club? I sure would like to see a picture of your $20,000 rifle
. You might be the first non-nazi asswhile with the "88" in your name. I'm going to hold you to the claim you made and when staff stumbles upon your name don't be surprised if you wake up locked or banned - you might want to contact someone for a pre-emptive change. Most of the "88" people get banned ass soon ass possible. I fucking hate nazis racist bastards.
So my sincere applogy if you're not a nazi troll looking to stir up shit.
What was that gun Deniro used in the movie Heat by the way?
