Exactly 14 days from the afternoon that I applied.  I'm really excited about the new responsibility of exercising this particular right.  (And carrying 14 rounds of 45 ACP goodness.)  I'm with ya now Sapper.

I told the ladies at the office to please give my regards and thanks to Sheriff White for his Pro Second Ammendment stances and his efforts in expediting CCW permits in Cole County.  (He is also really good about getting pistol permits out next day.)

Anyway, just thought I'd share my excitement.

Just out of curiosity, how long has it been taking in other counties to get your permit?

I believe it took a week in Franklin County. Don Jones and Tom Copeland processed me, and they're old EMS buddies of my dad.  It's nice having a mostly pro-rights Sheriff in Gary Toelke. He's still a fairly young guy(in his 50's I think) and I hope we can keep him around a long time.
