I'm available for a collection point in N. Ala, we can relay/convoy items from N to S.  Also consider a donation fund to purchase specific items. Just let me know how to help.

JR,

The wife says she will have some baby clothes that should fit ready to go by tomorrow night.  We'll also see about some stuffed animals and toys.

Call me tomorrow and let's figure out how to get together Thursday if at all possible....

I've lost nearly everything.  Friends and relatives have provided me with food, clothing and shelter.  The only thing I could use is a job to get back on my feet.  I'm currently staying near the TX/LA border at a camp by Toledo Bend.  I have alot of IT experience but I'm not against ass busting labor.  I'd also love to return to SE Louisiana for any type of construction/disaster relief work.  If anyone can help I would be eternally grateful.

Funds sent. Come on guys, help these folks out. What if it was us who after having done nothing wrong our whole lives had an act of nature wipe us out to where we started? Or if this would have happened when we were first trying to get a career, family and home started? I remember having to park my only car and hitch a ride for two weeks cause I couldn't afford a car battery. We southereners have never been known for doing a lot of things we should but we damn sure take care of friends and family when in need. Johnnyrebel, pictures of transfer aren't necessary. You either trust someone or you don't. You have mine.

Not trying to troll, but.....

Arizona has a serious shortage of construction tradesmen and homebuilding related professionals (civil engineers, etc). The central AZ area will pull permits for 70-80K homes this year. I know it's a long ways, but for someone who's mobile, it might be a good opportunity until your area gets back on its feet again.

Here's a contact.

Home Builders Assn. of Cent Az
3200 E Camelback Rd Ste 180
Phoenix, AZ 85018

(602) 274-6545

Good luck and God Bless you guys. - Jim

For anyone displaced with IT experience that might be willing to relocate to Mobile, AL, my wife says her hospital is in need.  I can gather the info if anyone is interested.

Met up with Scott today and gave him a care package of lots of stuff to Scott.

I want to thank everyone that offered any kind of help in my request for a job.  My uncle has moved his heavy equipment in from SC and plans to stay here long term doing cleanup and construction contracts, so I'll be working with him for now.  Not a nice cozy IT position, but I'll be making way more than my last job in that field.

Thanks again everyone.

C&C Technologies is more than likely hiring. We've been short handed for months, and there's no end
in sight for the work we're currently doing. We can use IT guys, if they're willing to work offshore and
especially if they don't mind not being an IT guy. We'll teach you what you need to know, but some
proficiency with a computer would be a definite plus. Contact any of the following people:

Scott McBay
Paige Melancon
Jay Northcutt

730 E. Kaliste Saloom Rd.
Lafayette, LA 70508

(337) 261-0660

Good luck.
