I'm taking a quick, unexpected business trip to Mobile and/ or Gulf Shores later this week.
1) Will I be able to find a hotel in gulf shores (we're actually going to Foley....any hotels there?)? 2) if I find a hotel room (i figure some got blew away, some are full w/ out-of-town workers and/or displaced locals, right?), and I have time, can I find a beach to visit on friday? This'll be my third trip to the ocean this year...and I haven't been swimming yet.  I'd like to get in a quick dip if possible. 3) and what's the weather like? |

This is proably too late to respond, but here goes.
Hotel rooms - good luck in finding anything near Foley. As you have already figured, the hotels.motels are full with relief workers. There are hotels/motels in Foley. I can think of a Holiday Inn Express, Key West Inn and a MircoTel I think. Getting to the beach - probably, depends on when you are here. The restrictions have been relaxed somewhat. Weather is great, this is one of the best times of the year here. High 80's low 90's in day/ low - mid 60's at night. Sorry I didn't see this sooner, I could have checked around for rooms for you |
