Like a Ruger MkIII or a Walther P22? Or are they considered sporting pistols or something allowing them to leave the same day?

Yes - last time I was home, some fellow ordered a Walther P22 from the local FFL.
I heard them tell him "8 day waiting period, and a safety video"
how gay.

Ghey is right... I can walk in and buy high-power long gun, or an HBAR AR, or a Beretta Cx4 Storm... and walk right out with it... but a .22LR pistol... way too dangerous to be letting it just walk out the door.

Ghey is right... I can walk in and buy high-power long gun, or an HBAR AR, or a Beretta Cx4 Storm... and walk right out with it... but a .22LR pistol... way too dangerous to be letting it just walk out the door.
