The last weekend of September, we are going to Corbin KY to pick up a new puppy. We will drive through Nashville to KY then to Corbin via the Cumberland parkway.

We have a couple of days, so what can we do or see near that drive?

I see Cumberland Falls and Mammoth Cave.

Any battle fields, gun shops, or other outdoor activities?

I didn't realize Rockcastle Shooting Center was closed. That sucks.

Corbin has the original Kentucky Fried Chicken Restaurant.
You could also do a show at Renfro Valley.
North to Richmond there is Fort Boonesborough
Cumberland Falls
Lake Cumberland
Cumberland Gap

Any breweries or vineyards near the Cumberland Pkwy? I noticed all of the distilleries are north. I dont think we will go north.

Any decent hotels, lodges or B&Bs in the area?

Cumberland Falls is a good way to kill a couple hours. Across the river from the visitors center is a pretty cool out-and-back hike called Eagle Falls. It's got good views of Cumberland Falls and ends at a swimming hole.

I met a buddy in Williamsburg for lunch earlier this week and it has a cool little downtown area. Definitely not big, but there are a handful of little restaurants and shops.

Pine Mountain SP has some neat hikes too.
