Well, I was right about one thing. Being referred for a GS-15 job at Tinker was a joke.
About 2 months after my application, it was tabbed "REFERRED, NOT SELECTED".
I was simply referred to the job not just because of my skill set, but because I am listed as  a "Disabled Applicant".
Filling out a job application just to be used as a "statistic" for their HR people should really piss me off. But it is so common place with job applications in the public as well as private sectors,
I've come to expect it.
Because I filed a workers comp for cumulative trauma to my knees and was awarded a disability, I am now basically unemployable in this state.
I recently went to the Worker's Comp Court in OKC and found out how many people had pulled my court case out. Several, including a government agency.
Now you know it is illegal to use that information to discriminate for employment. But you have to hire an attorney, take them to court, and watch the political interests determine the case, not the merits. I've seen it happen too many times!
In the last year, I have had one eye opening experience after another making job applications.
We have so many "professionals" that do the hiring that have the morals of a snake.
The money isn't the thing (but it doesn't hurt!), it's the two or three or four faced individuals that you have to deal with in HR departments.
So I guess I'll have to hang around  this board and bother you guys some more!
Or go hunt for Bigfoot after my shoulder gets cut next week!

I know what you mean Dan, I went to school to learn another trade, then spent the next couple of years looking for a job, nobody was biting, finaly sunk to a new low, and started carrying a gun for a casino, not that it was a bad experiance, had alot of fun, first job I ever had where I could tell a customer to STFU! when they started arguing with me and not get fired, and if they wanted to fight, well.......then, I got to throw down on'em, only had one that didn't back down, but he got the idea real quick that he wasn't going to come out well at all and decided to take to the door, had some that got real tough and brave once they made it to their cars, then jump back out with something in their hands in a not so well lit parking lot, but again the light bulb came on real quick when they realized they were fixing to leave feet first flat on their backs, these were the types that were asked to never come back, sometimes it was fun and got the heart pumping, sometimes it wasn't, but in this new job I still get to be present and work closely with security, tribal and others when customers get drunk and froggy, but its all hands off now(kinda like the pope and nuns) and I have to listen to not only customers, but whiney assed employees complain and bitch, then make decisions when they can't unass their heads, but its a good learning experiance for later when I decide to run for governor of the tribe, so if you think I'm twisted now, just stand back and watch me then, the media will have to leave a transmitter right there at the agency so they don't miss the story.

Bro, you'd make a great chief!  A pork chop in every home, even if you have to give them yours!
But it does scare me thinking you'd get elected! After watching what the Cheyenne-Arapahos have gone through, you'd better wear a bullet proof vest with the trauma plate attached to your back if elected!
If anything happened to you, I couldn't do anymore pork chop jokes!
If you do run, watch your back, bro!
