Nevermind, I finally was able to get a hold of somebody at the property––––they are gun friendly, but they prefer you check your firearm instead of leaving it in the room.  I'm coming from TN and according the info I've found, my carry permit is reciprocated in NV so I don't plan on leaving it in the room at all.  If anybody has any additional words of advice about carrying in Vegas coming from TN, please pass them along.  Thanks!

HA! Thanks for the heads-up––- I guess that is a reference to crime in Vegas?  I'm coming from Memphis––––I'm well-versed in crime.

Here's part two of my question––––we're coming for my little bro's bachelor party and here's the list of places he wants to go besides Planet Hollywood: Caesar's Palace, Bellagio, Aria, and the Spearmint Rhino.  I've seen conflicting reports about the Bellagio and haven't heard a thing about the others––––what's the word?

EDIT TO ADD:  I won't be consuming any alcohol while carrying, so that's not an issue.

Crime isn't that bad here. When you look at the statistics, we're pretty middle of the road. But do you really want to keep anything valuable in a room that an under-paid, over-worked housekeeper has access to? No thanks! :)



Planet Hollywood: Used to be called Aladdin. P.F Chang's isn't bad if you like Chinese food. Casino floor isn't particularly impressive, but I'm a jaded local. The "Miracle Mile Shops" are a bit of a mixed bag, and since they're on the Strip, generally overpriced. I don't recall any place in the shop area being decent for food.

Caesar's Palace: The shops are mostly high end, but there are some really nice restaurants there. Definitely worth a walk through.

Bellagio: See the Botanical Gardens inside the casino are pretty neat and worth a look. They change them throughout the year. There is a nice cigar lounge, but bring your own cigars: they'll ream you. Personally, I like the Bellagio. The fountain shows are frequent and free, and pretty neat the first few times you see them. A lot of excellent, high end restaurants. I personally enjoy "Olives". See if you can get a seat by the window overlooking the fountains.

Aria is the new place in the City Center development. They're working out the wrinkles. I like it, but people complain it is too dark.

The Spearmint Rhino is a strip club. Believe it or not, I've never been to one, but I'm sure one of our resident horn dogs will be happy to speak up and make a recommendation.

See as much as you can. These mega-resorts are neat places, and worth at least a quick look.



As far as alcohol and concealed carry go, it is legal to be in an establishment that serves alcohol here. It is also legal to drink while carrying. It is not, however, legal to be drunk. The legal limit for drinking while carrying is 0.10 BAC, though I personally wouldn't have more than one drink. I like to have full control of my senses while in public, gun or not.

Won't get into Rhino carrying.  They will check and misplace and firearm/blade you bring along

Rhino (and most strip clubs in town) wands. You wont get a gun, knife, and especially not a flask in that joint.

I'm pretty sure I've carried in to Rick's Cabaret.

Pro tip: most clubs will send a free limo to the hotel to pick you up.

Yeah, I found a bunch of stuff online last night about the Rhino wanding.  I'm not big on strip clubs, but I doubt I'll be able to get out of going since I'm the best man/brother of the dude whose bachelor party this is.  Thanks for the heads-up on the limo––-that would eliminate the need to carry for the walk there.  So I take it that most places around town are gun-friendly with the exception of the strip clubs?

I wouldn't say gun friendly at all for the casinos. However, concealed means concealed, and the charge for getting busted is a trespass only if you refuse to leave. So the risk is nill.

DO NOT walk to the rhino, or any other strip club for that matter. That is a shit part of town, especially after dark. I wouldn't walk it with a gun, it's just asking for trouble.




The rhino is like going to the zoo. Full of exotic animals in their natural habitat. It's pretty amazing most nights if you're into topless girls. That said, do your drinking in the parking lot/ limo over there, and bring cash. $20 a pop if you're into lap dances (can be very pleasant!), and it can be almost $10 a drink and up. You can't start a credit card bar tab there without something like a $70 minimum.  Expect to pay a cover at the door. Stay out of the VIP room, no matter what those strippers tell you. All those warnings aside, it can be a pretty crazy fun place. I put it as a Vegas 'must see'.
