This Sunday I am to arrive there for two weeks.  What are a few things a person can occupy thier  time with?

McCoys is the only large place on post. There is also the rec center and the rustic inn. There is in no way a flurry of activity on post.
I suppose you could go off post and admire the Wal-Mart?? I guess.

Answer... Not a God DA# thing!!! Go to LaCrosse if you can otherwise Hit the gym, go Running(they have a nice Gym/Indoor Pool) McCoys is the club on post, they have decent food/beer, Bowling Alley, new PX and Comissary next to it.
Theres a small Military Muesum with an Outdoor static Display near the Military Academy (ask for Directions)

Bring some fishing gear and grap a map from Range control . Couple of good fishing lakes up on north and South Post.

You did'nt say what your doin there... and if you have your own transport or not. if you have no wheels your options are limited.

Sparta and Tomah are the two closet towns about 10 miles apart from the main gate. Typical small towns with a Walmart and a grocery store and a few bars and restarants.

This time of year the post starts to get quiet as Annual training for most units is winding to a close and a lot of the business's switch to their Winter Hours which can force you to go into town.

If you have wheels take a ride down the Missip River I do it on a Motorcycle but a car is fine.
Lots of back roads and the buffs in La Crosse are beautiful.
There is a Cabala's in Prairie du Chien and a Gander Mountain In La crosse
If you like the outdoors this is one great area check out the locks on the river
There are Indian casinos in the area but the machines are tight.

I was the armorer for HHC of the 961st in the mid-80's.

McCoy is rotating a lot of units through there right now due to OIF and is actually fairly busy.  Are you going to be living in base housing or in the field?  McCoys is supposed to be really hopping on the weekends lately.

Fishing sounds like something good to do.  I am suposed to be staying at the acadamy or building 51, I have no idea.  I am attached to NMCB25, Navy Reserve.  Six years active Navy then got out, just recently rejoined as a SeaBee.  First time on an army post.

Aaah.  WMA is a nice place to stay.  Can't say I've seen to many CB's, although you guys do have your own building with your mascot out front on the north end of contonement.  

Not far, 50 miles SE on I94/90 is Devils Lake State Park.

Park. Trot up the Potholes trail that rises 800 vertical feet in .3 miles
