I don't know why I'm surprised at all.

Gov. Inslee proposes capital gains tax, tax on health insurers to offset pandemic revenue losses

Insurance is overly expensive, hey lets do something to make it more expensive.

Awesome!
I was really hoping that while being unemployed that the cost of health insurance would go up!

Rest assured, the cost of everything else will go up as well. You'll get it coming & going.

Title is misleading. These are Inslee revenue losses, not pandemic revenue losses.

So, I'm a little confused on this. If it passes, when would Capital Gains taxes actually take effect? In 2021? Or later?

Monson played an audio clip the other day of Inslee clearly acknowledging the legal dilemma with a cap tax, but he doesn't care, & intends to push it anyway.

While the legal challenges will take years working through up to the state SC - & ultimately fed, if the former plays to the party - in the face of the prohibition against nonuniform income axation in the state constitution, revenue will get collected (& spent) without penalty, win or lose the final outcome.

There are no consequences for govt breaking the law. It's a racket.

Whatever Insfuck wants, Insfuck gets.
Another reason to flee this ever increasing liberal cesspool.
