Simple question. Please hit poll and write in yea or nay.
Please keep on point. Thanks! ETA Duh, I forgot mine. NO- Delay uintil after the announced shoot concludes. |
No.
Taking the time for much discussion is prudent. Business as usual for the Sept LCR shoot is my position. |
Ya'll aren't following directions.
the rulz.
I know, I have never been able to follow directions. NAY DD |
Nope...these rule didnt imply not messing with Cav when he is sleeping
I know thereis some hella irony here. Sorry, I didnt mean to put in a rule. |
I thought Carbine Monoxide had it pretty well covered anyway--
<never mind> |
I went to the last one with no rules, and it went rather smoothly. I say they're unnecessary, as the group-mentality (and the CavVet Range Nazi ) there seems to keep things rather safe.
I voted no. I liked some of the things written, but not if it is going to scare people off from attending.
Rule #1
CavVet is buying.... If we make all these rules to protect the women and children, who's gonna hold the targets? |
27 to 3
I am sure your Governor will be along to demand a hand recount. |
Hold on a second, I'm in King county I get 10 more votes! No No No No No No No No No No |
Voted no, but I don't think there should be any second shoot either.
If some people want to get together and shoot, they have to wait for us to vote on it? Huh? You live too damn close to Olympia.... |
Nay. I didn't realize that "that" thread was a legaly binding contract and not just more internet rambling "pre shoot".
I won't be there anyway unfortunately. |
It wasn't but it may have been taken that way by accident or it may have present a slippery slope. This thread seems to be putting the brakes on the negative waves (for now). |
Я возвратился бы кое с чем остроумным, но я только пролил борщ ошпаривания вниз мой скайввис. ETA Translation: I would have posted something witty, but I just poured scalding borscht down my skivvies. |

RED DAWN! RED DAWN! Lock and load! |
The thread is here for everyone to see, and the actual voice vote is 19 No's -0 Yes. That is a assuming "guess" is no and +1 to "guess" is no. The poll is unofficial. |
And that, doesn't make a lick of sense. |
How can I put this in a nice way? A minority here do not need to insert their control over the majority. For those that voted NAY this is clearly our shoot. If there are those of you that don't like the way things are done there is always enough weekends in the year that we can have two shoots a season. IMHO It's a good idea anyhow because of the size of the shoot and location.
Yeah, but what's the King County tally? 34 Yeas / 12 Nays? Or is that 23,454 Yeas and 5 maybes? |
I will post with my vote and it was no...
Edited to add----The second shoot was yesterday.... |
Well as I talked to some of you about this and most wondered why my lack of participation in it.
My point is the very fact that all of this was brought up stirred in the mind... SAFETY. It is paramount, always has been and always will be. We have a safety briefing on Sat morning to go over some things and will continue to do so. I don't believe we need a written document to say how things will be. I believe CM's post could be modified a bit and be a very useful tool. Common sense will and must prevail. Unsafe acts are discussed. If you see one that is not, tell the person. If you don't feel comfortable tell myself or CavVet. We do run things a little loose but for reason. Most of you guys are in an area that you don't have the opportunity to cut loose like we do down here. If anyone has some specific concerns feel free to IM me. |
Maybe have some on hand for those who have quetions we can just read them or post them at the sight ( pit)
no, absolutely not, I have seen too many new shooters ruined by range nazies and those who like to impose their will on others because it makes them feel big, Everyone looks out for eachother and should speak up when they feel like an unsafe act has, or is about to, happen, but do so in a respectful manner, and as for bump fireing, a few brass burns on a bystander are a right of passage, not something to loose your cool about..
No matter where this group meets or who shows up, I'm very comfortable with CavVet speaking up at the area where we meet prior to the shoot and/or at the shoot, to lay down some friendly ground rules regarding conduct during the shoot.
If the Clampetts arrive, or anyone else for that matter, I'm comfortable with a temporary 'cease-fire' while they set-up and get a dose of OUR REALITY. Once everyone knows what is expected, resume fire and have fun. Simple. If anyone has a problem being forward enough to bring an unsafe situation to light, DON'T BE. If anyone has a problem being corrected...DON'T BE. It's a GROUP SAFETY mentality. EXPECT a lecture at the beginning and RESPECT any call to attention of an unsafe practice. Correct the problem and move on with the FUN. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. |
Apparently, DaBunny must go through this "Rite of Passage" at very shoot he attends. Oh, and...CAVVET'S fault! At least the one I was witness to. |
