I know these people have some obvious problems...but geez...right in front of other people?  It is too bad that others have to witness this individuals choice to end his life. I feel bad for him....but I also feel bad for the people that had to witness it as well.

Was the last thing he said, "Any gun will do, if you will do"?

All kidding aside couldn't he have gone and bought a gun with a credit card and done this somewhere private?  Suicide is selfish enough without making it a public display.

I called Sams, they told me that no one tried or did off themselves.

I also looked at all of the local papers.
Nadda.

I've got the family membership there at Sam's.
Now that we're closer to the range, I'll have to use it!

You guys had me going on that story, though.
I was thinkin' "GREAT, that's all we need".
One of my fellow Busmen was asking that we meet up at the range as he hasn't been out shooting for a couple of years.
GLAD the story isn't based in fact.

Well I read it in the Everett Herald a couple of days ago.

Death at gun shop
likely self-inflicted

An Everett area man Wednesday fatally shot himself in a gun shop and shooting range south of Everett, Snohomish County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Jan Jorgensen said. "We don't know if this was a gun he had rented or if it was his own," Jorgensen said. "It appears to be a suicide."

Police received a call of shots fired at 1:25 p.m. at Sam's Gun Shop, 11714 Airport Road. Jorgensen didn't know if the incident occurred in the store or on the shooting range. There were no witnesses, although several people heard the gun go off, she said. The man was in his mid-20s. Leroy McMillon, a sales clerk at Sam's, said the store had no comment on the incident

I wonder if they would have said different if you would have ask'd....

"Did some dude stick a gun to his head and pull the trigger?"

And come on!....How can the Sheriffs office say that they do not know if the guy rented the gun or if it was his own?...

I can't imagine how this call went down.  "911, what is your emergency?"  "Yes, someone is shooting a gun!"  "What is your location?"  "Sam's Gun Range in Everett."  "Is this some kind of joke, that is a gun range, of course there will be shots fired."

Still, I find it amazing that this story didn't get more play in the press.  The anti-freedom crowd could have had a field day with it, filling the media with all kinds of misinformation.  I don't understand how anybody could even attempt suicide......

Sam's is owned (maybe "was"  as my wife said she read his obit. in the paper a while back) by a ex sheriff or Everett PD fella and a lot of the clients there and some of the staff are LEOs.  In addition Everett and that area has less antigunners than my area, Edmonds, and to the south.  Those may be factors in the way it was played out in the media.

Please... socialism has pervaded society to such an extent that you assume this guy was selfish?

You probably don't even realize its socialism....   Capitalism is based on the free trade of labor, goods, ideas.  Capitalism is based on the idea that you own your own body.

Socialism says you're owned by the state, and that you owe the state ("community", "society") your labor.   Remember in Germany women were admonished to have as many kids to fight for the fatherland as they could.  And I'm sure you're familiar with other socialist states where the people work for others.

The idea that this guy owed others his life, and therefore was being selfish by taking it, is pure socialism.  Especially given that you know nothing about the actual facts in the case.

Isnt it nice to have our resident troll back? Missed you like a toothache.

The next thing you know he will be trying to teach us why we should all give head and how it has enriched his life.

It has nothing to do with the state moron, its to those you really do owe things to, family and friends, unless you are such a selfish fuckmutt that thinks he is an island.

You know, you are so right, suicide is perfectly acceptable, and you have our permission. Carry on.

Please squeeze your sphincter tighter.  When you pass out I like it better.  It's selfish to go and kill yourself in front of other people, who you don't know, and make them deal with your brains splattered across the bathroom floor.  They have to live with that image and memory.

If you think it's not a selfish act than why don't you go try it yourself and quit being such an uber dick.

The more I think about this (and other incidents like it), the more it kind of ticks me off.

I have some law enforcement buddies who have described some gun suicide scenes to me in great detail. It even turns their hardened stomachs.

I do think this guy would be kind of selfish to do this, especially if I had my kid in the range with me at the time it happened. I have no idea what drove this guy to the breaking point, but I do think it is BS to do this kind of thing in a public place.

He may have been mentally ill....so I will give him the benefit of doubt.  This fact would change the way I would feel about it slightly.
