Well, it looks like I will be offered a great position with a company northeast of Trenton in New Jersey. The position is good enough to make me consider leaving a HUGE company where I've been for only six months.

If we assume the company makes me an offer I can't refuse, it will give me the opportunity to work in NJ and live in PA, particularly around the area of Levitown, as well as areas northwest of it.

What are your opinions of that area, as well as your assessment of gun laws, property and income taxes, etc.?

Thanks!

Email sent with more details, but overall, Central bucks county is awesome.  The bucks county sheriff signs class III the same day.  There isn't a lot of groundhog shooting land or long ranges, but we do have a couple very nice gun shops in striking distance.  I apologize if I left any out.  In no particular order:

1 - Guns 'n things, Penndel  (good prices, very nice people).
2 - Tanners (FN dealer, big selection).
3 - Classic Pistol - Southampton, (Indoor range, full-auto rentals).
4 - Ready/aim/fire - Bristol, indoor range, good people.
5 - Surplus City - Feasterville/Trevose.  AK/AR city.
6 - Donley's, by Quakertown - Top notch gunsmithing work and good guy.

Check out langhornerodandgunclub.org if you're looking for  a club to join.

I'm running a tactical carbine match on 7/15 if you want to come and check out the club and the area.  Separate thread here in the PA forum on it.

There's another club in falls twp, but it's run by all 75yoa deer rifle shooters.  We pick up a lot of their membership because of their draconian rules.   It's a shame because they're in the middle of nowhere.

Zaphod, I am a resident of Levittown and I have not run into any problems here.  If you are definitely interested in this area, I would look for a place in Levittown (Middletown or Falls Township, not Bristol) especially if you have children that you are bringing with you. Middletown (Neshaminy) and Falls (pennsbury) are two of the better school districts around, of course the taxes are going to be a tad more, but well worth it. Take a trek through the area and you'll see what I mean.
