Guys and gals,
Anybody interested in participating in an 8 hour "DEFENSIVE EDGED WEAPONS" course in New Jersey? I see the New York guys have a good guy training them (goes by MDTS1) and I have made contact with him.

Go to the following link if you are interested and answer up:
www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=8&f=9&t=227141&page=1

There are a few things that have to happen:

1) I would need a minimum of 10 people (I have five so far)
2) Tution would have to be paid up front (paid by the 15th)
3) This would be held on a Saturday
4) This would be held at the Buckeye Gun Club in Barnegat, NJ.
www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?formtype=address&addtohistory=&address=501%20Route%2072&city=Barnegat&state=NJ&zipcode=08005%2d1012&country=US&geodiff=1
5) The course would cost $100.00

I think most of them are coming to the Easton Rally Point shoot. ;)

Is there a chance you could reschedule this?

No this cannot be rescheduled due to time constraints on the club, people initially interested in the class, and the instructor's schedule.

There are plenty of guys to go around for both events.
I did not mean for it to be on the date of the rallypoint shoot it just worked out for the instructor and the club's availability.

No harm no foul either way.
We have about 6 out of 10 commited so far.

That should be interesting.

I'm still not so sure about knife fighting....I'd take the course just for the knowledge, but I don't like the idea of having somebody bleed all over me.  I prefer the Indiana Jones approach to hostiles.... blast 'em

I agree with you BUT in the GREAT State of NJ we cannot carry our "Blasters" outside of our homes like our brothers across the river.

I think it will be interesting to say the least.
Knowing how to use different types of "tools" to defend ones self is paramount.

One day you may not have that "blaster" by your side and may only have the blade to protect yourself.

Diversify...
Learn knife defense!

Are you teaching any of this class?

[#7]
No I am not teaching any of it.

When it comes to knives I only know a few line drills from my time in the Marines. Nothing spectacular. I am excited to possibly learn some things that I can use to train others interested in the knife as a defensive tool.

We need two more bodies.

If interested, go on over to the Jersey home town forum and answer up.

FYI

Sorry to keep posting here.....

I just wanted to let people know that the TheRallyPoint shoot  that WAS scheduled for April 29th at Easton is being cancelled.    We're looking into having a RallyPoint shoot at another club.

Now there's NO excuse for not going to the Defensive Edged Weapons course.
