Holy shit, do we really have a whole month to go? Is Mandel's campaign so bad that now he has to make his hurt feelings his main talking point?
Does anyone know the NRA grades for these candidates? |

Mandell was in the Marine Corps!
I know because he KEEPS hammering on it. Great. Love the Corps, myself, but no one says he hasn't "worked" and didn't spent two tours in Afghanistan. Gibbons said he's never had a job in the private sector. The Marine Corps isn't the "private sector". That fundamental misunderstanding, coupled with the class warfare commercials Mandel has been running since the exchange is making it hard for me to pull the lever for him. It makes him sound like a damn Democrat. |
|
From what I can tell, he was only Marine Corps Reserve. Definitely what I would expect of a career politician that wanted to “check the box” to build out his political resume.
As a 15-year member of the USAR, there’s a reason why I refer to my civilian employer as “my real job.” |

View Quote Thanks for that. According to this, Mandel has an A and is the only one who has voted on 2nd amendment bills. YEs, the others have not been in office so there's that and they have an A with a q after it which means its just based on their stance, and not votes I have to say I wasn't really interested in Mandel when he ran in the past. Seemed squish. BUt someone on here posted about him months ago and I decided to relook. Now take this with a grain of salt since it's from WIKI but... anyone WIKI says is an "American far-right politician" seems to be on the right track https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josh_Mandel some highlights:
Now of course, he's a politician so.... seems to be good. Who knows if he can fight for US like President Trump did. All this being said, I'd have to look into the others as well. anyone BUT JD VANCE. Screw that guy |
|
I will give Mandel props for his service, after that, he's a liability.
Got beaten by Sherrod Brown in 2012, and dropped out of the race against Sherrod Brown in 2018. Not worth it, need new blood, and I am currently drawn between Gibson and Timken... |

Quoted:Gibbons has said that he doesn't think the middle class pays its "fair share" in taxes, and just can't be trusted with my wallet. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:Gibbons has said that he doesn't think the middle class pays its "fair share" in taxes, and just can't be trusted with my wallet. I think Gibbons statement was directed at the portion of the country which pay no taxes not at raising them on others who already pay. But he certainly gave his critics a powerful soundbite. Gibbons, Sept. 24: [Democratic Sen.] Elizabeth Warren’s obsession with not being a wealthy person is, is hurting our country. And, and, you know, if somebody takes that kind of risk, they should be rewarded. Now I’m not talking about about cutting taxes for the people that make it. I don’t have a problem with a progressive income tax structure. You know, I think a flat tax would even be better. We’d have much higher growth, but I’m not, I can live with a progressive tax structure. The problem is, is the narrative on the part of the Democrats is absolutely false. The top 20% of earners in the United States pay 82% of federal income tax. We only have, and if you do the math, and 45 to 50% don’t pay any income tax. You can see the middle class is not really paying any kind of a fair share depending on how you wanted to define it. The problem is you need the middle class to win an election. So the narrative is the middle class is getting screwed and the wealthy, the elite are getting, are cheating everybody and getting by unfairly. How much of the total tax bill can a very small percentage of the nation pay and still be a democracy? You can’t have 10 or 20% of the population carrying the whole bill. It just it doesn’t work long run. You know it’s a very dangerous situation. Everybody should share at least to some degree in the tax bill. Full disclosure Gibbons is currently my preferred candidate so I may be reading his statement with some confirmation bias. JLE |

Well, I had to vote today since I'll be out of town for the election.
Pulled the handle for Blystone/Workman and Mandel. The ad where he's with mittens and mcstain was tough for me to swallo, but pretty much everyone at the time thought they were fine. Hell, I even voted for both of them. I had to make a choice and hope it's the best one with the info I had. Good luck |

Definitely a hard pill to swallow. Question though, did you vote for McStain when he was running for Prez? I admit I did. If I knew then what I know now... hard pill again, but sure as shit wouldnt have voted for Obama |

It was my first Presidential election I got to vote in as a Citizen, and I saw Palin at Union Center in West Chester, and McCain/Palin at Lunkin Airport in Cinnci. Unfortunately, it was the best they had to offer at the time. I even voted fror Romney, and I did my best to convince myself that he was worth the vote.. |

As far as I can tell Gibbons is the only listed politician who has publicly admitted membership in a firearms organization, in his case NRA. |

Hope you all make it to the polls tomorrow if you haven't already voted.
I'm supporting Gibbon's as I believe he's the strongest candidate on the Second Amendment and the most Trump like Tea Party value candidate. He ran for Senate in 18 and I got to know him then. Hes a self made main with working class roots from Parma like my Dad. Rand Paul Supports Gibbons for a reason. I'm concerned Josh Mandel and JD Vance will split the Trump vote and give the race to Matt Dolan. Good luck and go vote whatever you do friends~ |

Trumpster endorsed Vance, ..but Gen. Flynn endorsed Mandel...
...interesting... |
|
The Ohio GOP establishment doing whatever they could to block Trump from endorsing JD Vance says all you need to know.
These are the same people who brought you Kaisich, Taft, DeWine, Portman, etc… Mandel’s “thank me for my service” adds are nauseatingly bad. I question the sanity and motives of anyone willing to put out stuff so self aggrandizing. Gibbons isn’t quite as bad, and the Paul endorsement says something, but I think he’s just another disconnected rich guy looking to buy a seat. JD might have said some bad things about Trump back in 2016, but so did I, and I think he understands on a very deep and personal level the current issues facing the country. And again the Ohio GOP establishment hates him. |

A 4x8' sign was put up in front of my house and I wasn't disappointed in my support. Trump isn't someone I share morals with, but he was good for our country. DeSwine, Joyce, Portman and the like, are all swamp. |

I really do not feel motivated to vote, and this is the first time I've felt this way.
For years, we've always gone to the Polling Station as a family, to instill how important it is to make your voice heard to my kids, but I'm just not feeling it today. I think I'm going to vote Vance because of President Trumps endorsement, while I want to go Blystone, I don't think he has the name recognition to beat DeWine, like Renacci. I started out rooting for Gibbons, but I want to make sure we have the best guy out of the 'what we have to offer', to beat the Lefts choice. I also haven't seen one Blystone commercial on TV.. |
|
I'm taking my 17 yo son to the polls with me, he will be 18 before Nov. so is eligible to vote in primary. He is registered.
Not sure if he gets a different ballot or can vote on tax issues, anyone know? I going with Pukita and Blystone, need to do a little more research today on the other offices. |

Today is the day! ...go out and make your picks, and let's see what happens!!!

|
Just received a Robo Call from President Trump endorsing JD Vance...and for whatever reason, I listened to the whole thing. Man, I miss him..
Anyway, I think I'm going with Blystone and Vance, but if Dewine is on the ticket in Nov, no way in hell will I cast my vote for that shitbag again. I'll have to live with 4yrs of Nan as Gov... |
|
I voted in the Democrat primary on Saturday. Having Nan as mayor was bad enough, so I voted for Cranley to try and keep her out. She's Dayton's version of Lori Lightfoot, and has no business being anywhere close to the governor's office. The amount of damage she did to the Dayton Police Department will take years to fix. Realistically, I'm voting for whoever the R candidate is anyway.
|
|
I'm going with Blystone and Pukita.
Not sure who to vote for in the 14th congressional district. Joyce is an establishment hack, and neither of his two competitors impress me much. |
|
Whew! What a nose pincher! No clear good choices other the “NO” on all the tax issues.

Dewine vs Whaley
Ryan vs too close to call right now between Vance, Mandel, or Dolan |

How did Dewine get that many votes after the Covid BS and Amy Acton. Who are these people that want more of the same?

You're asked when you vote in a primary which ballot you want, Republican or Democrat. There's nothing stopping a Democrat true believer from voting for the RINO candidate in the Republican primary. |

AP projecting Vance.
DeWine winning isn't the worst thing. I think he has a much better shot of winning the statewide race and keeping a Republican in office. Nothing against Blystone but I don't see the cowboy hat playing well in the big cities, and there aren't enough farmers to offset that vote. |
