Just returned from an armed Defense Walk in Gahanna OH (Greater Columbus). Good folks, friendly cops (I spoke with the Chief), met the Mayor, a nice lady on the right side of the issue. Lots of media types who took many pictures but were polite. No antis, even though they had been expected. Feel I have done my protest duty for the day. Will repeat. Between a communist gov (taft) and a problem Senate president (White) we STILL have no CCW in Ohio (other than prudent man afirmative defense).
Enjoyed exercising my right to "peaceably assemble" demand "redress of grievances" from my government and insist they stop "infringing on my right to keep and bear arms". I suggest we do more of this grassroots exercise of our open carry and other rights. I will post announcements here of future activities as I learn of them.
ALL OHIOANS: We need to inundate the Gov's office and our state Senators as well as Senate President Doug White with letters demanding that Senators be appointed to the conference committee to resolve differences between the Senate and House bills on CCW. (He is refusing to assign conferees as he helped write the wretched Senate alternative bill.) The Senate bill is bad so we want it made to look like the House bill (which isn't GREAT but we MAY be able to live with it). The OSP leadership is opposed to the House bill but they kowtow to taft. The republican leadership does not want to embarrass taft (a RINO) by passing a bill that he and his sick cronies oppose and run the risk it might be vetoed then over ridden. If taft vetoes it, then we kniow exactly who the problem is. He isn't popular in the state anyway. All this political hiding and lying makes me sick. Time to hold their feet to the fire and insist they go on record and do their jobs.
Senator White replied to my first e-mail (via staff)with weasel words and, to date, has ignored my reply insisting on a direct answer. Enough letters and they may get nervous and do the right thing for a change. The Ohio Supreme Court can't read and threw this back in the legislatures lap. Time for them to act.
EVERYONE, PLEASES WRITE, TONIGHT, to YOUR Senator and to Senate President Doug White!! Waste your time and write to taft as well.
