If I'm selling a handgun to someone out of state, all I need to do is ship it to their FFL right?  It doesnt need an FFL to FFL transfer doesnt it?

Correct, AFAIK. Ship it overnight UPS or FedExm and from a hub, not the retail outlets (Kinkos, etc)

Having a backup copy of the receiving FFL is nice to help verify that it was shipped should there be problems later.
