Posting for a friend coming out next week for the DBS shoot here in Vegas.

What is the legal status of non-folding M1 carbines in Cali these days?  Looks gray to me reading the legalese.

The rifle is welcome, the +10 round magazines aren't. No pistol grip, no bayonette lug, no flash supressor ... good to go!

Last time I checked there were no magazine check points along the boarder.

I'd say the Carbine is travelling from CaliBan to Vegas. Yes it is legal and so are the mags. It's not legal for him to return to CaliBan with more mags than he left with.

The CaliBan Firearms Checkpoints will definitely ask about this and have him fill out the proper forms. Don't try anything sneaky, the charges are horrendous.

Oh, that's right, there aren't any CaliBan Firearms Checkpoints!
