Just curious if anyone has checked out the quarry up by Placerville lately?

I've been there before so I am familiar with the place in dry weather.

Do you think I could get in there this week with a two wheel drive car?

Or is it too early?

My kids are on Easter break this week and want to blast stuff without any range nazi's around.

My bet would be that it's closed. IIRC last year it didn't open till May, and I don't remember last year being this wet.

No way in a 2wd vehicle, and probably not in anything without tracks either.

I haven't gone up to check yet, but my son was up that way 4 weeks ago and the snow on MI Road was still about 6 feet deep a good 10 miles from the Quarry.

Based on last year, and barring any unusually hot / rainy weather up there, figure it will be late May at best before we can get to the Quarry.

ETA: The snow pack this year was 300% of normal.
