There is a picture from Syria showing UKSF with an HK417 and a Vortex sight.
The British Army system also shows issueable products of: 16" Rifle Optional 12" upper called 'Assualter' Optional 20" upper Surefire FA762K suppressor Optics are TA01 ACOG and top mounted RMR Or for the 20" gun, when configured as sniper support weapon, the L17A1 3-12x50 S&B which is the same as was issued on the L96A1 back in the day. Here is the Syrian picture, it is confirmed UKSF, most likely SBS. 
Can anyone with better eyes than me tell me which Vortex that is? Looks to be the 1-6x as I know thats issued on the 15.7" L119A2 so it would make sense. |

Yup...that would be UK SF...regular UK army uses LMT. Vortex HD GEN II is what that optic looks like.
