Looking for options for putting a vertical foregrip on a MP5. Want rails, but will consider all options. What prices are the foregrips? Brands? Looking at a Surefire, with a Tango-Down vertical. Suggestions? Price is a consideration. Am not planning on completely "decking out" the gun. One or two rails should be enough, not six.

I really like the TDI SVG.  It looks like and feels like the vertical grip on the MP5k forearm and complements my BW5 with B&T rail system nicely.

TDI SVG

Don't know if the link will work, but I got my TDI SVG from blackjackbuffers.com.  Best price on the net that I could find and they shipped it fast.

I'll second blackjackbuffers.  I ordered three of them and got them quickly.

GG&G makes a rail for the standard MP5 fore grip, I think it is around $50.Botach tactical has the same rail usually for around $39.It allows you to use any vertical grip that fits on a picatinny rail.

FWIW, I had rail hand guards with covers, a vertical grip, and a surefire mounted on a Vector V53.  Then I took a weekend carbine class and after that wanted nothing but the lightest, most basic set-up, the standard MP5 'wide' hand guard.

+1

Perfect in its original, unaltered form.

Agreed, just playing around with it.

Got an original Armson OEG on it. Like it a lot, but considering other options.
Suggestions on a sight, or should I just start a "MP5 sight thread"?

I'd get the SureFire MP5/94 rail handguard instead of the B&T.  Lighter and less expensive.  I'm not one to buy cheap stuff just because I can save a few bucks, but the B&T handguard has no relief cut for the ubiquitous KAC rail panels, has a solid bottom (less ventilation, whereas the SF units have lightening/ventilation holes where possible) AND it costs more.  Basically you pay more and get less.

I do have two B&T mounts, the quality is fine but I don't think it's superlative as their prices and the much vaunted "Swiss Made" slogan would have you believe.

The SF unit is fairly close to the original, KAC RAS for MP5.  RAS side rails go back (towards the butt) a bit more.

I second the Surefire RAS suggestion.  Though I prefer the basic set-up, if I were going to use a RAS on an MP5 type, I'd use the Surefire.  I had them on Vector V53s and they were quality pieces and can be had for about $100.
