How many rounds fired through a new DSA SA 58 before I would need to worry about excessive headspace? I've owned mine for 3 years and have fired about 1000 rounds per year.

More than you'll fire at that pace. You would probably wear the barrel to the point of accuracy loss long before you need to worry about headspace.
If it really is a concern get a field reject gauge and check it occasionally.
