Just finished my first AK-47 kit and it was fun.  I am now looking for a FAL parts kit.  I live in Fort Worth, and Military Gun  Supply had them until a few days ago.  Guess I waited a little too long.  Any suggestions as to a good place to get one?  Has anyone done business with Ammunitionstore.com?

My kit from ammunitionstore was also mechanically sound, but had multiple coats of paint on the lower reciever and butstock.  I did get a very nice STG-58 kit from DSA too.

Just got a Rhodesian kit from ammunitionstore. Kit was really in great shape. Really good chromed bore. The last 10 inches of the barrel did have some surface rust but it took me about 20 minutes with my finishing sander and it is bright and shiny. No pits ready to refinish. Cost was 200 dollars to my door.

I have one of there kits the bore is great, some minamal serfice rust on the outside and of corse the amasing tecnacoler but stock. The only other thing is that it took almost two weeks to ship mine.

The paint striped off preaty easly with an asatone bath, putty knife and a detail brush.

Before commiting to a kit, you had better locate a suitable receiver.

The IMBELS have either dried up or have gone through the roof in price.

The DSA'a are great, but big $$$

The days of cheap FAL's are a thing of the past.

Entreprise Arms are about the only receivers around currently.  Although my may run across a private seller on the markplace here or the falfiles.  A gentleman that goes by the name of courtFL had a few DSAs on the falfiles last week.

Ok, I found a Century receiver for $159.00 from Impact.  I emailed them, and they advised a 4 to 6 week lead time.  Anybody used one of these?  Anybody done business with Impact?

I the century recivers are considered the second worst reciver you can build on.  They are famous for having a "unibrow" feed ramp.

WAC allumimum recivers being the worst because they lose correct headspace after a couple hundred rounds.

Never used one and from what I've heard I never will use one.

+1 for Court.  I believe he still has a few DSA's.

DSA now recently had a bunch of receivers in stock.  TDWsales will be getting more imbels in--although the price is increasing from $179 to over $200.

Cancel your Century order.

Thanks to all, this is the information I was looking for.  Enterprise shows the Type III DSA for $239.00.  I have seen Court referenced a couple of times, but cannot find him.

Uh.....Entreprise does not sell DSA receivers. They do sell a type 3 receiver but it is far from a DSA.

If youare not already on TDW list for an IMBEL reciever your chance of getting one...anytime....is very, very slim.

You are right, my mistake.  However, since we are here has anyone had any experience with the Enterprise receiver??

I have built 3 different rifles using Entreprise type 3 receivers. 2 went together without a hitch. The third required a great deal of barrel shoulder removal to time correctly. And it required an abnormally small locking shoulder. Beyond those small items, no big deal.

The current Century receivers have the standard feed ramps. Unless you are an experienced F A L builder with more than the usual tools, the century receiver should be your last resort. They can be made to work, but require a lot of fitting.
