I have a recent vintage SA58 with the brake silver soldered on.

Questions:

1) Can I use a plain old blowtorch and vise grips to remove the old flash hider?

2) Will doing so require a refinish of the barrel?

3) What sort of FH should I replace the "blast enhancer" with?

4) Do I turn counterclockwise or clockwise to remove the brake? (metric pattern rifle)

5) It IS threaded underneath that brake, isn't it?
