Don't know the entire story but I recall reading about some registered parts (sears-?) coming onto the market from a private party. Using these parts you can legally make a select fire FAL and the FNC is supposed to be the best to do this conversion on.
I'm sure someone else knows more about this. There were a few posts about it on the FALFiles a while back. |

Exactly, theres been alot of auto sears dumped on the market lately, and they all need a home. |
