Patiently waiting for my upper, how many people out there have one on order? I’m looking to eventually suppress it, not sure if the CRS or PRS would be a better fit. Super excited for the upper, I will post pics as soon as I have it in hand!

Hoping a 16 or 18" 6.5creedmoor upper is available eventually.
I'd be all over that. |

The PRS is definitely the top contender for cans on the upper. I already have the glass and everything, now just the upper

Any chance were going to see complete 6.5 rifles?
Dont want to buy a $4500 gun and then another $3500 upper just to get it in 6.5 |

@Jack_L is there any time table on the uppers being released commercially? I know these have been in the works for a little while, just curious if I am going to regret getting a bolt gun in a month or two
|

I ordered mine last December, crossing my fingers I’ll have it by this one

We're getting close.
Had some changes by request of the originating customer, and every time that happens things get pushed back a little, but it's right around the corner. |

Quoted: Getting around 2465-2485 with 130-140gr stuff. View Quote I've come to really like shorter barrels with a lot of the new bullet designs. I really like my 13.5 MWS and want to pick up a 14.5 ACC when I get home. What are your thoughts on your guys shorter barrels these days? Is this the way we are headed, are longer barrels going to be reserved for bolt guns/Magnus? |

View Quote A 20" 7.62 is great, until you have to move through a confined space or work in/out of vehicles. A 16" 7.62 is great, but you definitely have to be more "on" with distance and wind than you do with a 20" 7.62. A 14.5" 7.62 is great, but gets dicey at longer ranges, especially if you're using projectiles that have stand-out terminal performance. A 14.5" 6.5 wouldn't be my go-to if I wanted to win a PRS/NRL Match, but it is what I pick up when I go to shoot feral hogs. |

Is that a 16" barrel? I guess that's not bad... My GAPrecision 26" 6.5 does 2740 with 140 Berger hybrids. View Quote |

Just running some super generic numbers. on Short Barrels with ELD-M's
A 147 ELD-M launched at 2400fps will hit around 1300 yards before going subsonic A 178 ELD-M launched at 2400 will hit around that point around 1100, I don't think that large frame AR's needs to be thousand yard plus guns all the time, I just see them as awesome tools for that 500-800 yard window where Match 556 really start to get dicey. Comparatively speaking, A 556, 75gr will drift 89 inches 800 yards in a 10mph crosswind with 175lbs of energy left A 6.5 147gr will drift 45 inches/w 670lbs left a 308 178gr will drift 60 inches /w590 these days even with a full length barrel, I think at that if i wanted to shoot longer ranges, i would be more inclined to grab my 300WM as its just way more consistent and hits alot harder than a gas gun |

A 13.5 308 SS LMT barrel shooting factory hornady 178 shot by elucidate using lab radar.
The 2400 number was a conservative estimate based off the info passed along for the KAC 14.5 upper posted above |
