Still pretty new to the gun world but i am now taking steps into the hobby becoming a bigger and bigger part of my life.

im starting to upgrade my gun and learning the ins and outs....got my Sadlak spring rod and magazine latch recently and am about to install and it brought up the question what grease do you use?

just like a wheel bearing grease, plastilube, lubriplate? or what?

I assume you're talking about the M1A/M14 rifle? Different has written a fantastic guide, in Excel format, to the various greases and lubes that work best. PM me and I'll email it to ya.

marine grade wheel bearing grease - more resistant to water/moisture than regular wheel bearing grease.

For .30 cal use the Heavy Weapons formula.
Best on the Planet.

Lubriplate 130-A. I got a can from brownell's and i wonder if I will ever finish it in my lifetime. You should be good with just about any other gun grease or wheel bearing grease though. I haven't heard of anyone having problems using any of this. I got some Tetra and still need to try it.

Sta-Lube part #SL3333 EG Anti-Seize Engine Assembly Lube, extreme pressure. w/moly-graphite.
Lithium 12 hydroxy stearate based grease which adheres to metal surfaces
Prevents destructive metal to metal contact
Contains moly and graphite

caution it will cause cancer in kalifornia.

AFAIK lubes with graphite as an additive are not recommended for use on weapons.

Krytox is the best, it's from Dupont.

..... I also use Shooters Choice red if I'm in a pinch.

(if it rotates, use oil... If it slides, use grease)

I did the same as Tony and I use it on all my firearms (except the AR's)
Been using it for over 10 years now

Some sort of Swedish bearing grease I picked up when I forgot my Lubriplate at my Old Man's place. Been working great for the last couple years.

I use "choke tube grease" found in a small toothpaste type bottle at most gun stores- cheap works fine and a little dab will do ya- my tube is like 15 years old and not empty yet.

LOVE Break Free LP.I use it exclusively after trying alot of other gun oils.For grease I use either this tub of G.I. grease or Mobil 1 synthetic grease.Have not found any other grease in my experience to equal them.

I use whatever's handy. If it runs off the rifle when it's hot out, then you've made a bad choice. Apply grease, then wipe off almost all of it.
