I've fired about 15K of Chinese 308 steelcase ball through my FAL's, M14's, AR10's, G3S, Garands and Galil with no problems.

Believe I still have about 4 or 5K of it left and will have no problems running that through my guns...





But to answer the question, steelcase ammo will do no harm to the chamber.

No. You're fine.

The only disadvantage is that the steel case will not expand in the chamber like a brass case will. Therefore, the argument has been made that you lose gases around the case as the round is fired. However, if all you're doing is plinking and need cheap ammo, it should suffice.

I'm no ammo expert, but this is what I have heard many times.
