According to FedEx, I should get both my Dane Rack Grade Garand and my 1903 Mark 1 from the CMP by 10:30 am tomorrow. I put the order from in the mail on 12/11...I'd call that service.

Someone likes me.

Dane M1 (sn 410xxx), serial matches stock:

M1903m1 (sn 1076xxx), serial matches stock, caked with cosmo:

Notice that it appears to have a 'C' stock (pistol grip-ish)...I thought that only A3s had 'C' stocks and all others had scant stocks.

I believe only very late '03 Springfields had C stocks originally.

That's not a C stock, it's a "scant" stock. FYI. C's are more like a modern bolt action style pistol grip.

Cool. Thanks for the clarification. I though that there was only two types of stocks, the "pistol grip" C stock and the broom handle straight stock. When I saw a bit of a hand grip, I assumed it was a C.

They both go in the safe until after the holidays when I'll clean them. Maybe the goldenrod will melt the cosmo off the '03 by then...
