I just bought  a used SA MIA.  It didn't come with a manual.  ( I downloaded it from SA), but I think it does a poor job of telling me what to oil, what to grease (if anything).  Is there a nicely illustrated manual for disassembly, cleaning, reassembly somewhere?
Thanks

I clean everything with Hoppes 9 then grease metal-to-metal contact areas, especially bolt and op rod. Grease--not oil--is recommended for M14-type rifles. Also be sure to clean the gas piston every once in a while.

I can send you a cool 1960s-era M14 military maintenance manual if you want--I can also post it in this thread, but it's not dial-up friendly (2MB JPEG). Definitely worth reading, though.

On a Garand, which is very similar, often greased locations are the operating rod spring, the operating rod surface facing the barrel, and the bolt areas and bolt camming lug portion of the hammer as shown in the drawing below:

I have been using white lithium grease for my bolt.  You can get it at local stores in auto dept.  Seems to do a good job.
