I have settled on the Smith Scope mount and the Leupold Model 51850 or 53672  3.5-10x40mm M3 scope.  Now the big question is which 30mm rings do I use? This seems to be a common scope for the M1A so I'm hoping some of you guys have this configuration.  I'd hate to guess on which size and type of ring only to find that the scope won't fit etc etc.

Thanks in advance,

Gary

Whih ever ARMS#22 rings bring the scope closest to the bore (L,M,H)

Hence the reason for my question.  I'd rather not have to buy three sets of rings to only have to turn around and return two of them.

Gary

I have the Badger Ordnance Maximized in Medium (I believe I will check tonight) with the same Smith base and scope combo and they work great.

With the ARMS #18 and the Tasco/SWFA Super Sniper 10x42, the ARMS #22 low are good to go.

Pictures to illustrate the clearances are coming up.

Phil,

Thank you.  Do you find that the scope returns to zero when you remove it?

I haven't zeroed or shot that rifle since I switched that 10x42 from a PSS so I can't say if it holds zero or not.

The #22s did hold their Zero on a different PSS with a different 10x42 though.

I'm getting Red X Kung Fu here........  Could you email me those pics please?  The ARMS and SWFA setup is what I am looking at using right now........
