Best I remember they were built by Heym in the 80s or 90s under the Mauser name by license. They are well made with some modern production techniques that make them different than a true 98 Mauser. They seem to have a good solid reputation with no major problems that I know of. I think Heym parts will interchange as the same gun was later imported under the Heym name. Not sure on parts availability.
They were $1200-$1400 bucks in the gunshops back then. That may be a bargain if it suits you.
