Who else has a Browning AB3 that has the nasty habit of occasionally having its bolt come completely out of the action when cycling for no apparent reason? What causes this? Any remedies? I was thinking about putting a much heavier spring in the take down latch but thought I'd post here first.

I haven't had that happen on mine. Have you contacted Browning?  I had an issue with my magazine, nothing major, but I had a new one free of charge in 2 days.

I'll have to give them a call after all this corona crap is over and places customer service starts answering phones again.

I hope you get it figured out. I really like the AB3. Try the MCARBO trigger spring if you haven't yet. It makes the trigger great.
