I found a Browning Model 65 chambered for .218 Bee for sale today. Just a plain, used rifle, not perfect, not externally abused. $999.

I'm going to pass.

I have a strange attraction to these lever action .22 centerfires, but don't own one ... yet. Funny thing is that it would be strictly a range toy.

I picked up a Browning B92 in 357 today. The wood finish is in bad shape and needs to be re-done. It was $599, probably too much, but there aren't many of these around and I couldn't walk away.

Speaking of Browning lever guns - I have a Browning BL-22 that I absolutely love. Great little gun.

Probably not enough to matter. I haven't bought anything from this shop, but I have done business with his gunsmith brother at his shop. I seriously doubt he's going to come off $500, or even $400.

The Browning lever guns are nice, but the prices are high anytime you see them.
Even the BL-22, which I really like, is now high, compared to the semi-auto 22lr long guns out there.
But look at what the nice Japanese made Winchester 1892 models are selling for.

I have a Winchester Model 53 takedown made in 1926, so it's a little easier to pass on the new 1892's, but I keep an eye out for a nice 25-20.

Which reminds me, the same shop had an old Savage box magazine fed bolt rifle chambered for .25-20. Interesting, but a pretty plain rifle with not much to recommend it that I could see.

Funny you should say you saw the Savage. I've been looking for one, but in 32-20, and in very good condition, for a long while, because I'm invested in the caliber.
25-20 is a pretty expensive cartridge today, unless you load your own, or look around at some of the obscure companies that load for cowboy action shooters.

I load almost every round I shoot unless I buy a gun with a new cartridge, then I generally buy one box of ammo while I'm waiting on brass and dies.

I would like to have an 1892 chambered for .25-20, and another revolver chambered for .32-30, I sold the Model of 1905 I had.
