I'd like to see a single photo showing the .50 BMG, the .408 CheyTac and the .338 Lapua Magnum lined up side-by-side.

Anybody have these three rounds that could post a pic?

I was reviewing "hard target interdiction" it's a textbook for 50 BMG SF dudes. It says that if you have chosin the 50 BMG cartridge for accuracy or long range shooting strictly due to its size, then you have chosen wrong. The author of the book says a 300 win mag can be ballistically superior for long range shooting. I could only imagine that to be true for the 408 or 338 but I have no info to base that upon. He says the 50 is used for the energy it carries at those ranges not because it is better shooting. I was quite surprised. Anyone else's thought on this?

...from someone (me) with very little trigger-time on the .50BMG I must say that I can't disagree with what you have just said.

I chose the .50 'cuz it's the BADDEST BOY on the block - PERIOD!!!

I like to make large and deep holes into things that are usually bullet resistant for fun like big rocks and steel plates and 55 gallon drums of water etc. My little 50 BMG fits the bill until I can get that 40mm Bofors I guess.

I cannot produce a picture with the .408 as I do not own one, nor do I have plans on buying one (since AI does not make one).

Then buy an EDM Arms 408, it look's better then anything that AI could produce and it is easy to break down and carry.

Looks do not impress me, buying a rifle based on looks is sheer madness. I am of the belief that using one type of rifle (whatever brand an individual chooses) of various calibre's (same fit, feel, trigger) is far better than having multiples of various types and styles which one must re-accustom themselves.
As always, to each their own.
