Is there an American made Uzi, or 922r Uzi like there are AKs,FALs, and G3's? If not are there semi-auto Uzi parts kits anywhere? I just feal the need to own the gun that is the largest reason for the AWB.

well, their was a preban one, i cant remember the name, but i belive it had a park. green finish. as that is preban, thats not what your after. you could pry bulid one of a norinco receiver with a fixed folding stock.

this got me thinking, would it be legal to replace a norinco wood gay stock with a welded folder? that would only cost about 650 finished.

If the main reason you want an American manufactured UZI is to get a post-ban one, you might have additional complications. I believe that the UZI, some UZI’s at least, are too heavy to be considered post-ban legal, even if they are domestically made. However, if you are talking pre-ban, this might not be a bad idea.

I thought that Uzi's with 16" barrles were considered carbines, therefore not subject to the weight limit of 50oz which is what limits 'assault pistols'. How much would it cost to build a 922r compliant Uzi?

UZI carbines are subject to 922. just like FALs or SKS. the 50 oz weight limit is from the 94 crime bill. full size uzis arnt made into pistols. micro uzis can go either way(but the micro with a 16 inch barrel looks goofy as hell)

Why not just buy a preban IMI Uzi?? Its less hassle. I have 2 Uzi's. I have the preban IMI Model A full size uzi with a folding stock and a preban IMI Uzi pistol. They are great guns and a blast to shoot. I bought both of them at gun shows and paid $1350.00 for the full size and $1200.00 for the pistol.
For those of you who have never fired an uzi I highly recommend it. It doesn't get much more fun than that. |

IMI receiver $295 from Modesta, Ca, group industries receiver from D and D sales for $239 unfinished. 922 compliant kit from D & D $489 + S&H. Grind of sides of bayo lug, weld metal stock fully open and Voila, 922 compliant Semi-Auto Post Ban UZI for less than $900. Also the kit from D and D is first rate, looks and functions excellent.

can you buy receivers that have the parts welded on? I don't know how to weld and that would be a problem.

The IMI receivers (Modesta,CA)and the receivers from D&D sales do have the parts welded on. The one from D&D for $239 just isn't finished (blued, parkerized, anodized etc.)

I believe that Vecktor Arms guns are built on Group Ind recievers that were bought at auction some time ago.

I am getting a full auto Vector Uzi, it is awaiting a Form 4 as we speak. Neener neener nyah nyah!
 I had a Model A IMI about 15 years ago, it was fun, but not *that* much fun. 9mm just doesn't blow the hell out of cans, pop bottles, rocks, etc. etc. like .223 or any rifle round for that matter. And the 16 inch barrel required looks silly. |
