Model # 10/22T?
Does it have a spiral bull SS barrel and lam stock. I have been waiting for them to release the target rifle in SS for some time. Ruger has had the target model in Blue for some time. |

Most .22LR loadings will provide optimal velocity from a 16"-18" barrel. Beyond that, and velocity starts going back down, due to friction. The only good reason to extend the barrel, then, is to extend the sight radius of the iron sights. Yet, you can fit a far superior receiver-mounted peep rear sight and an extended front sight on the regular 18" 10/22 and still have more sight radius than on a 22" barreled gun with the standard, barrel-mounted rear sight.
It sounds like this was a custom configuration requested by someone at WalMart who doesn't fully understand gun design. But, since WalMart sells more 10/22s than anyone else, by a large margin, they have the pull to get custom configurations if they want them. -Troy |

My local shop has had two of these on the rack for a while now. I think he wants like $370 for it. |

It is NOT a 10/22T, it is a conventional tapered barrel. Saw one a few weeks ago. Wal-Mart has gotten a couple exclusives from Ruger over the years, because Ruger sells a HUGE number of 10/22s, and a few of the centerfire rifles.
As an aside, the 10/22T has been available in Stainless for almost two years. I know for a fact it was out then I bought mine in April of 2000. Almost any dealer can get you one, the $370 may be a tad high, I have seen them at Galyans (Fairfax, VA) for $330. |

it's a 10/22-22 I have been told it's a wally world only gun......standard 10/22 action 22 inch stainless barrel (standard profile) checkerd walnut stock without barrel band.....I laid my paws on one and thought it would be a great gun with a .920 barrel and the stock opened up .......
