Now that I have the directions to take it apart, how hard is it?  I want to polish up the sear and hammer engagement areas.  Is it worth it?  Or should I just go get a 92D mainspring instead?  Thanks for your opinions. guns762

I ordered up a hammer spring kit from Wolff.  It has a 20# (stock) 18# (stock DAO) a 17# and a 15#.  About 15 bucks including shipping.  I'll be more than happy to let you know how it goes.  They should be here Fri or Sat.

I crawled aroud on a floor for 2 days once looking for a Luger spring.  I'd hold off and try somethin' simple first!

There easy to tear down.
How far do you want to disassemble the pistol?

Do you want to pull apart just the frame or the slide also.

If your just changing the spring, then pull the grips, put pressure on the lanyard plug(in) and you can push the pin out(lower rear). Change the spring, and reinstall the lanyard plug. If for some reason the guide rod gets skewed, just push the hammer pin out and pull the hammer. You can re-aline the guide into the hammer slot. The hammer is held in by the hammer/slide retention pin and no springs will go flying.

You can e-mail me with a phone# and I can talk you threw it, or I can write the novel.

I completely tore mine down without pics or manual or anything.  It is not too bad once you figure out how to do it.  Hammer spring was the toughest until I figured out to pull the lanyard plug out. Otherwise, it was easy.

Your mileage may vary.
