I have a flat top sporting an ACOG.  I was thinking of putting a rear flip up sight on it but I have no experience with any of them.
Anyone have any suggestion on any that would not impede the eye relief of the acog?

Here's a few I've seen in pictures..
KAC 300 m
ASA tactical flip up sight
ARMS #40
DPMS high ground system

thanks

ARMS #40 is a bit high for your ACOG, since ACOG have a short eye relief, you are better off with the KAC 300.

No experience with ASA nor the DPMS sights.

What about the GG&G's?  www.gggaz.com/page10.html

I don't think the GG&G A2 BUIS will fit under the ACOG, but the MAD might.  I've got both the KAC 300m & 600m - the 300m will definitely fit, & I'm sure the 600m will, too, as it's only 1/4" taller (stowed.)

I use the #40 with my ACOG with no eye relief problems.  Of course, there's no way to flip up the rear sight without first removing the ACOG.  But, hey.

Anyone know if you could use the new Tactical Carry Handle Assembly with integral rear sitght with the ACOG?

The only one I've tried is the DPMS A2 RSA.  I like the QD feature with the two thumb screws.  I'm sure the others are really good, but since I can only comment on this one, I gotta say I REALLY like it alot...highly recommend it.

I don't think even the compact ACOG will fit in front of the DPMS rear sight.

Heres a pic of the ARMS40 on a Bushy M4 upper. You may be able to determine your requirements from it. I really like the ARMS 40 having owned a few other flip up rears.

Thanks for your replies.  I must say I still feel like I'm in the same boat.  but I'll try to see if I can get my hands on a cuple of these.

KAC 300 meter backup iron sight, but that's just me and because I have it  It's simple and robust.

I'll second Duffy's recommendation, I like my KAC 300M, "simple and robust."

My favorite isn't mentioned, but I really like my Knights 600m flip-up. Very robust, and excellent adjustment control.

I like the KAC 600 meter sight too, it's more sophisticated than the simple yet elegant 300 meter unit, but I can't see very well at these distance with naked eyes..

I'm a HUGE fan of A.R.M.S. products

I am, too, of their mounts - second to none.  I didn't care for the #40, though.  My index finger always seemed to brush the windage knob when charging the weapon.

Hey will the KAC 600m be adjustable to shorter ranges as well?  pardon the ignorance.

GG&G MAD.

For Aimpoints - the DPMS FIXED REAR.

Yessir, from 200m to 600m; it even has a "Z" setting built in for proper zero & calibration.
