Just seen a add in shot gun news for the Armalite Ar-180b every thing is the same minus the lower is now a polymer which is said to be stronger than the sheet metal once used, and of coarse no flashhider. All parts are interchangeable with 1st gen 180's.For $650 no more prices reaching up to 1200-1300 I'm in line. And its a true Armalite

Yes, they are "back". The trick is actually getting one. I've had one on order from Armalite since early June. It was supposed to ship in September, it didn't. I have no idea when or if it will ever ship.

Yup, they're great. I've got an original Costa Mesa, so I''ve been tracking the project over the last two years to get the new version, too.

One correction: While the new uppers can be made to work on an old gun, the AR180B lower receiver is a completely different design internally that uses standard AR15 fire control parts. The new version also uses standard AR15/M16 magazines without modification (the original AR18/180 mags latch via a slot on the RIGHT side of the mag). Both are improvements -- but they aren't interchangable with the originals.
