I don't think it counts as a rifle but it is one heck of a 50.BMG pistol I do not know who makes it but it would be interesting to shoot. Maybe even a little dangerous anyway I don't think they come any shorter than that.

Anzio Iron Works has a take down version that is a little less than 35" long. Even a breifcase that it fits in.

I don't have a link but I remember seeing a 50BMG with a 16-inch barrel. Now, I would hate to think about the flames comming out of the end of the barrel but they advertised a 50BMG with that short of a barrel.

I believe the Barrett M99 is the shortest 50BMG rifle made.

I Think it was a Desert Rhino. Guns and Ammo(?)
had a write up on them a couple of years ago. Don't know the specs. or web address either.
I would like to shoot one once, maybe twice.

What about the Robar? It only has a 29 inch barrel, weighs 25 lbs and uses a standard rifle stock or a folding stock. The Navy SEALs employ it for their snipers, and probably other Spec Ops do as well.

Well actually I didn't mean the picture I meant what they had posted on their webpage at the link above....

Features:

The bolt has three lugs and a large extractor.

The firing pin is blocked from forward movement when the bolt is open.

The 18" Lothar Walther barrel is free floating in the vented handguard.

The barrel is easily replaced, and the headspace is adjustable.

The muzzle brake is indexed by a selectable shim and is not visible when assembled.

The integral scope rail is elevated .750" from the receiver.

Fully assembled on an AR-15 lower it is 44", and weighs 23lb.

Custom features like left hand bolt, etc are available, just ask. See news and info page.

The FERRET50 is designed to be comfortable shoulder fire weapon. Its cener of gravity is placed to provide a balanced feel. And its compact design allows for easy transport and storage.

Now, this might not be accurate but that is a short barrel if correct!

The ferret50 is avaliable with 3 different barrel sizes 18",29",and 36".the one in the picture is 18".the super deluxe comes with 18" barrel installed and a extra 36" barrel with headspace gauge for installation.
