Okay, let me see if I got this straight.  For a rifle to be of legal length it must have an OAL of 26".....right?  And with a 16" barrel an AR15 is over 26" measured from crown to the back of the lower receiver. So if I have a post ban AR and a 4-position collaspable stock can I permanently fix the stock in any position I want?

For example: I want to permanently lock the collaspable stock in the second position.  Is this legal??

Thanks

yes, but the perminate fix is the tricky part. who knows what "permanently fixed" means to the ATF. someone (maybe DPMS) had a "tactical stock" out a while ago. it was basicly a pistol lenth buffer tube with qa odd looking stock built on it.

I think Rock River Arms has a tactical buttstok out now that appears to be about 6". Looks kinda neat.

I'm sorry...but that is just damn ugly IMHO!!  I prefer the looks/feel of the collaspable stock.
