I know butler creek sells two different styles of 10/22 mags, the HotLip and the SteelLip.  I figure the SteelLip is better, but what are the real advantages to it?

A common problem with the aftermarket 10/22 mags is the feed lips wear or break. The steel ones are much less likely to do that than the plastic ones.

Each .22 cartridge wears the plastic lips just a tiny bit both while putting them in and shooting them out.
