JUST BUY ONE!!!

It does'nt make much difference. Buy what you like and can afford. They all work and look good. True conniseurs tend to prefer Armalite, some of them even shoot them. The collecting types buy Colt, always looking at the $$ invested versus the possible future return. The shooting types on a budget end up with Bushmaster. I think most of them shoot them and if they get rid of them their returns are not bad! I'm joking, kind of! Just buy one.

I want an accurate one that has a carrying handle permantly attached and one that is reliable even after like 5,000 shots and one that will take cold weather for along time? Wich one fits my needs?
Link Posted: 11/8/2001 6:48:20 PM EDT
[#9]
They all will do. I think the Bushmaster would be best. 5000 rounds is not a problem with any of them. In extreme cold weather all will require the same types of care and lubrication. I like the fact that the Bushies are pretty much mil-spec. Don't know about Armalite. Colts are not. As far as accuracy Armalite probably has the edge, but not by much.

Which one is better? Armalite Colt or Bushmaster?

I'm going to give the best possible answer and say, "YES."

Get at least one of each.  I have an Armalite AR10T, Two bushmasters one shorty AK and one vmatch 24", and one Colt AR15A2 match Target hbar.

Which one?

Whichever one you find most comfortable and can get the best deal. Is that specific enough?

COKE!
PEPSI!
FORD!
CHEVY!
THE BEATLES!
ELVIS!
YES!
NO!
MAYBE?

Ahhhh, a man after my own heart. As for the rifle, you've made the right decision for yourself.

Oh cool - a new topic that's never been covered before!

In a nutshell, all three have outstanding quality and realiability.

Bushmaster is the best overall value, and has great customer service.

Amalite is more expensive for the same rifle - you'll pay for the "lifetime warranty" (and for some the deluded notion that Eagle Arms has anything to do with the original Armalite company).

Colt - some people like 'em, some hate 'em, but generally the post-bans are not worth the slight premium you have to pay over a Bushmaster.

I've bought several Bushmasters from Greg Monte at Jersey City Armory (is that still the name), and at least one friend of mine has bought one from him as well.  He has great prices and is a stand-up guy!

I bought a Colt HBAR because it was the most Mil-Spec of the Colts, and because I wanted that NAME!!! Hell, I didn't even know Bushmaster existed back in 97.

If I could buy another (damn Kalifornia), I would probaly buy an Armalite because I like the historical value.

Colt may not have the same push-pins, and it does have that silly block in the lower receiver, but it does have a 1:7 barrel (mil-spec twist), and it has that beautiful prancing horse on top of the globe!

In the end, it really makes ZERO difference from an effectiveness standpoint, its just personality and subjective perference.

I bought this exact gun for $730.
It is a fine piece of weaponry.  The WOW factor is also huge when you show off your new piece.

I own three Colts, but my next AR15 will be an Armalite (National Match). As for Bushmaster, I would like to own one, but in Canada they are more expensive than Colt or Armalite - backwards from the U.S..

There is no cheap substitute for experience. Colt has been building the finest firearms for over a century.
Like they say "there are only two qualities, the best, then all the rest"

I labored over this not too long ago.  Her in TX I found
Armalite M15A2C and M15A4C for $740 + Tax.(funky muzzle brakes)
Sights for the M15A4C would add $150 +Tax.

Bushmaster XM15 E2S Shorty A3 W/Hdl for $765 +Tax.

Colt Mt 6530 $770 +Tax (chrome bore)
MT 6731 was $829 +tax. (no Chrome Bore)

Based on that I was planning to get the Bushmaster when I found a preban Colt R6601 for $900 + TAX.  Just a little bit more for a preban.  I sent the upper to Kurt(KKF) for his 16" Peban Lightweight Kurtzgewher conversion.
