I have a New England Firearms sigle shot sportster chambered in .17 HMR and wondered if anyone shot Mach 2's in their guns .

I know it's not going to blow the gun up , but I don't want to damage the chamber or rifleing .

I am just curious if anyone has first hand experience .

Thanks

That would be a no, the Mach II's total length is less than the length of the HMR case. The mach II bullet would still be in the wide portion of the HMR chamber.

+1

Do NOT use the Mach II in an HMR.

M2 will prolly chamber and fire in the HMR rifle. It will split the necks on the case but willl it kaboom, doubtful. Will it be accurate, probably not as the bullet will have to jump a good distance into the lands, possibly hitting the neck area of the HMR chamber.
