There are not even good semi autos yet. It is a hard round to feed reliably, and it is a rimfire. Even though rimfire technology has come a long way, It is not as reliable as a centerfire.

What the hell is a PDW?

Volquartsen makes a killer 17hmr that at one time held the WR for smallest group at 100 yds.

Many folks are converting 10/22 magnums to 17 hmr and having no trouble with feeding at all.

By PDW, do you mean "personal defense weapon"?

If so, it is not the ideal people killing caliber.
